Clarity Global AI

Clarity Global have their own AI platform that needed UX and UI updates.

Challenge

Clarity Global have their own AI software used across all departments in the company. As well as a chatroom, there is also a ‘share of search’. Both of these needed UX and UI updates to help usability and to align closer with the branding used elsewhere.

My approach

Working closely with the Chief Technology Officer at Clarity, I started the project by looking at the UX of the then-existing design. One UX issue I suggested to change was that users could not clear their AI chats individually - they had to either clear all messages or none at all. This was far from ideal from a UX perspective so I suggested to give users the option to delete chats individually and in bulk.

Originally, there was an existing dark mode version of the platform. There were several internal conversations I was a part of discussing whether to include this going forwards or not. After speaking with multiple people around the company we unearthed that not many people actually used the feature. With tight time restrictions we decided that it was for the best to remove this functionality and focus on making the light mode the best it could be with strong UX and UI in place.

Results

A successful redesign was put in place which gave the user more freedom to do as they please and also made it feel more connected to the rest of the brand. I also decided to add an icon to give the AI “Clara” some personality. From a personal perspective this was a different kind of project from what I am used to. Usually the sites I work on are B2B companies aimed at sales of some description. This was quite a nice change as it enabled me to create an online platform that requires an account. Although it is only a small change, it was a different consideration I had to acknowledge.
